Logicalis joins OpenStack Foundation

, Mai 11, 2017

Logicalis, provider of information and communication technology services and solutions for Latin America, announces its association with the OpenStack Foundation, a non-profit organization responsible for the development, distribution and adoption of the OpenStack platform worldwide. The initiative is part of the company’s strategy for cloud computing, NFV (Network Functions Virtualization) and SDN (Software-Defined Networks) initiatives – crucial for clients’ digital transformation projects.

For about three years, when it first noticed a trend as specialized hardware-based architectures migrated to others more flexible, agile and software-based, Logicalis’ been internally addressing related issues. Growing client demand for support in the transformational process and the resulting market need for broader comprehension of the subject have motivated the organization to increase investments in the theme.

By joining the OpenStack Foundation, Logicalis contributes with it throughout Latin America, driving the growing development of open platforms used in most SDN and NFV projects. The idea is to also, increasingly, stimulate internal collaboration and use of the tool.

“Logicalis has been monitoring and supporting OpenStack-related activities over the last few years. As of now, we are officially part of the global leaders’ team supporting the continuous growth of the open platform”, says Fabio Hashimoto, Logicalis’ software services director. “We consider OpenStack an essential component in clients’ digital transformation, especially due to its role as cloud computing enabler in the process”, he concludes.

Logicalis’ first initiative as OpenStack Foundation member is to attend the 2017 OpenStack Summit, organization’s main event happening from 8 to 11 of May, in Boston, MA (USA). Currently, the foundation has more than 60.000 individual members throughout 180 countries.
