Internet of Things to transform business and daily life, affirms PromonLogicalis

, Out 14, 2016

PromonLogicalis, provider of information and communication Technologies services and solutions for Latin America, strongly believes in the Internet of Things potential and has been investing in developing solutions and projects to transform people’s and organization’s daily lives. With this in mind, the company will bring a future-life experience to Futurecom 2016 attendees, which takes place from October 17th and 20th at Transamerica Expo Center.

“We believe in the Internet of Things’ capacity to ease and transform the way we live today. However, it’s important to note that the use of sensors alone does not offer intelligence to processes. It’s paramount to adopt analytic technologies and have defined processes to extract information from the numerous data captured by sensors”, said Lucas Pinz, PromonLogicalis technology director responsible for the IoT area.

Aiming to show how the Internet of Things will impact the daily lives of people and businesses, the company brings to its booth technology use applications for several sectors, such as agribusiness, retail, manufacturing and energy. The tour begins in the countryside, where an air balloon with WiFi brings connectivity to distant areas and allows connection with soil (composition and humidity), air quality and temperature sensors, which collect information to improve control and productivity in agribusiness.

From the countryside to the city, the citizen of the future uses a connected car with telemetry capabilities and capturing information from the driver and vehicle - such as driver profile, mileage, fuel consumption, brake usage and reviews. In the booth, the use of this data is presented in a vehicle rental environment that, using analytics, can improve business performance and customer experience.

The demonstration then reaches the industry 4.0, where vibration sensors monitor all equipment at a factory plant, in real time, to identify the best moment of maintenance so that there is no interruption of the production line.

In retail, IoT improves the shopping experience, optimizes back office, and boosts cross selling. In the demonstration, applications will simulate a supermarket aisle - which brings nutritional information and recipes when a product is taken from the shelf - and a hanging closet, which allows you to see the available colors and sizes of a piece of clothing, as well as accessories and clothing to complement the look.

Finally, energy efficiency will be a growing concern, whether in the domestic or corporate environment. With IoT, it will be possible to monitor energy consumption, in real time and for different requirements. In the event, the simulation will measure the consumption in a commercial building and in the booth itself.

Lectures

Lucas Pinz, technology director responsible for IoT, will lecture on Digital Transformation and Internet of Things, to be ministered on October 18th at 15h20. In addition, Fabio Hashimoto, technology director responsible for PromonLogicalis’ software area, will attend a panel on Smart Cities and the contributions for Security, Healthcare and Education, on October 19th at 15h10.

Hashimoto will also conduct, with Eduardo Pszczol, from Nominum, a lecture on how, together, both companies can accelerate digital transformation, improving people’s daily lives, and simplifying businesses. The presentation will be held on October 19th, at 17h20.
